Personal Maintenance

On the personal maintenance front:
Haircut - 2 inches off. $17.00 - I do this as needed.
Pedicure - $22.00 - I do this every 5-6 weeks.
Manicure - $10.00 - I do this annually. I do it myself the rest of the time.

Please, before the criticism comes about a mani-pedi while I have debt, understand that I set aside a little each paycheck for personal maintenance.

I don't need to explain, but I will: I'm a fat girl. My pudgy middle roll under the ribcage and boy does that hurt! Needless to say, I can't comfortably reach my toes and work on them without doing some sabotage.

I could have waited on the haircut and manicure, but there is a possible change of employment opportunity and I want to be ready with a professional polish.

    It seems you found a reasonable place for getting your mani pedi and haircut. I doubt your debt is just from mani pedi's. At least you understand it is a bit of a luxury and you have put it in your budget.

    I think it's important to do small things for yourself that make you feel good. No plan will work with complete austerity!

    I think most people have certain "must haves" that aren't really frugal. For me, it's buying a lot of organic produce. I agree with creditcardfree.

    Without personal reward or gain, why even bother going to work??!?!?!?!?!? We all deserve a little taste of comfort at times. Good for you! And I am sure you not "fat"....most likely, healthy and beautiful!

    I'm spending $12 on Zumba today. It's usually only $6, but I'm paying for my unemployed college daughter who is going as my guest. I perseverated for a bit because it is UFMC and yakkety-yak, but it gets me out of the house with other people and I like it. And I could justify it by talking about the health benefits and its cheaper than the gym, but I'm done with talking too much.

    Enjoy your pampering. I know that I do.
