Need to Consolidate - Help!

January 3rd, 2017 at 07:27 am

As you can see from my sidebar, I have a hefty credit card balance to pay.

I have a 720 credit score. With that, I am looking for a credit card with the following features:

1. No annual fee.
2. Balance Transfer with 0% APR.
3. 24 month term minimum on 0% APR.
4. The most likely card that would grant $20k credit.

I am prepared to pay $400 per pay period ($800 per month) before the end of the term to get this albatross paid off.

If you are perusing the rates for a card similar, will you send me a link?

Thanks bunches!

I use this website to find balance transfer cards: https://www.nerdwallet.com/blog/top-credit-cards/nerdwallets-best-balance-transfer-credit-cards/

I just applied for the Chase Slate that has $0 transfer fees, but it is only for 15 months and my limit was $5,500 even though previously I'd been given $11,000 limits.

I was going to recommend the Chase Slate card as well. I don't know that you will get the credit limit that you want, but once it arrives you could ask for more, explaining that you want to move the entire balance. Anything you can get onto a 0% card is very helpful while paying down debt. I would divide the balance you transfer by 15 months and pay it off that way. Any extra funds go to the other cards (highest rate first would be my preference, while paying minimums on the rest).

I am fairly confident in saying you will never find a card that will offer a $20,000 limit with all the other conditions you want. You are going to get the 20k limit OR the other conditions only...maybe. Your credit score is good even very good not great.
